Toronto Marlies News Release

Tuesday night kicked off what will be a busy month for the Toronto Marlies, who played their first of eight road games in the month of November. In a much anticipated rematch against the Texas Stars, who eliminated the Marlies from the playoffs last year, the Marlies would fall 3-1. The first period saw lots of chance both ways; however it would be two late goals from Texas that would have the Stars up two after the period came to an end. The second period saw a strong effort from the Marlies who controlled the play outshooting the Stars 15-10. This effort would eventually lead to a goal from Spencer Abbott, moments after a power-play had expired for the Marlies. Looking to equalize in the third period, Toronto failed capitalize on any opportunities. The Marlies would take consecutive penalties to end the third, which lead to an empty net goal from the Stars, ending any opportunity for a comeback. Toronto's next game is Friday November 7th when the Marlies visit the San Antonio Rampage, affiliate of the Florida Panthers.
