Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators traveled to Utica for the third of six matches between the teams and lost 1-0 to the Comets. The Comet's goaltender Jacob Markstrom picked up his fourth shutout in just six starts to begin the year.

Nicklas Jensen scored the game's lone tally 13:41 into the opening period off a feed from Dustin Jeffrey. Jeffrey took a pass from Bobby Sanguinetti and sent a centering feed to Jensen, who popped the puck past Binghamton's Andrew Hammond for his fourth goal of the year.

Binghamton, who was outshot 34-19 on the night, went 0-for-1 on the man advantage. Hammond finished the night stopping 33 of 34 shots faced, but dropped his fifth straight start in net. The B-Sens have now played 11 games in the 2014-15 season and nine have been decided by just a single goal.

Binghamton travels to Rochester Friday, November 7, for a 7:05p.m. contest versus the Americans. The B-Sens will be back on home ice Saturday when they host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05p.m.
