Toronto FC News Release
Toronto FC announced Monday that the club has assigned goalkeeper Quillan Roberts, along with midfielders Daniel Lovitz, and Manny Aparicio on loan to its USL Pro Club affiliate, Wilmington Hammerheads FC.
"We feel this will be of great benefit for Quillan, Daniel, and Manny and it will allow them to earn valuable match experience in a professional environment," said Toronto General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. "Throughout the course of the season our coaches will make trips to Wilmington to observe our players. We had very productive meetings during preseason with Jason Arnold (general manager) and David Irving (head coach) and really feel comfortable about the environment our players will be developing in."
Roberts, 19, originally signed with Toronto FC on April 10, 2012. Roberts was the seventh player in club history to graduate from the Academy to the first team. He has yet to make a competitive match appearance for Toronto FC.
Aparicio, 18, originally signed with Toronto FC on August 8, 2013. He became the eighth player in club history to sign for the first team from the Academy. Aparicio has yet to make a competitive match appearance for Toronto FC.
Lovitz, 22, was selected by Toronto FC in the second round, 24th overall in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. Prior to being drafted, Lovitz spent four seasons at Elon University, making 80 appearances, scoring nine goals and added 16 assists.
