
Toronto Drops Lake Erie 4-2

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, by a score of 4-2 tonight at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
Toronto defenceman Kevin Marshall opened the scoring at 19:11 of the first period. The goal was Marshall's first as a member of the Marlies. Toronto would grab a 2-0 lead on Mike Zigomanis' 6th goal of the season at 1:47 of the middle frame. Lake Erie would cut the lead in half before the end of the period on a powerplay tally from John Negrin at 11:47. Joe Colborne extended his point streak to four games, scoring the eventual game winning goal on the powerplay at 3:11 of the third period. Andrew Agozzino added a late powerplay tally for Lake Erie. Ryan Hamilton notched his 30th goal of the season into an empty net.
Toronto returns to the ice on Friday night when they travel to Illinois to play the Chicago Wolves, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
