
First Ever Crunch Goalie Mike Fountain to Help Crunch Celebrate 1,500th Game

Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Mike Fountain will be at the club's Friday, March 22 game against the Hamilton Bulldogs to help celebrate the franchise's 1,500th regular season game.
Fountain, played goalie during the Crunch's inaugural AHL season in 1994as well as parts of the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons, he was the goaltender in the Crunch's first game on Sept.30, 1994. Fountain ranks second in Crunch franchise history for all-time regular season wins with a 54-71-12 record over parts of three seasons.
Since the Crunch played their first AHL game more than 8,025,000 fans have attended a regular season home game. The Crunch boast the longest active independent ownership in the American Hockey League, led by Howard Dolgon. Over 19 seasons the team has had four primary NHL affiliates (Vancouver, Columbus, Anaheim and Tampa Bay) and 542 players have worn a Crunch uniform. The team approaches their 1,500 milestone with an overall record of 663-626-96-72-41.
Fans are encouraged to stay following the Crunch vs. Bulldogs for an open skate with music from 93Q's Rick Roberts. Fans must bring their own skates. Single game tickets can be purchased either in person at the Crunch Box Office located at the War Memorial on 800 South State Street in Syracuse, or by calling the office at (315) 473- 4444.
