Amerks Sign Forward Colin Jacobs to ATO

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Colin Jacobs to an Amateur Tryout.

Jacobs recently completed his junior hockey career by leading the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in scoring with 53 points (25+28) in 66 games while also recording 98 penalty minutes. He was also named Prince George's Player of the Year. The 20-year-old native of Coppell, Texas, played parts of four WHL seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds prior to joining Prince George this year. In 186 games with Seattle, the 6-foot-2, 207-pound Jacobs registered 89 points (44+45) and 234 penalty minutes. Jacobs was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round (107th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
