August 12, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Plenty of pomp and circumstance will be in the air this Friday night as the 500,000th fan of the season will walk through the gates of Isotopes Park to see the first place Albuquerque Isotopes take on division-rival Omaha. The 500,000th fan will be awarded a trip to Ft. Lauderdale to see the Florida Marlins battle the Atlanta Braves on September 12 and 13.
The Isotopes have teamed up with American Airlines and Classic Travel to award the lucky fan the trip to Florida. The Holiday Inn also is involved, awarding the winner two nights in a Fort Lauderdale hotel. First State Back will supply the winner with $1,000 in spending money.
Through 63 home dates, the Isotopes have drawn 493,619 fans for an average of over 7,800 a game, third-best in the Pacific Coast League. The Isotopes broke the previous Albuquerque Baseball attendance record of 390,652 fans on July 20 in their 51st home game.
The Isotopes return home to face the Omaha Royals for the first of a four-game set on Friday night, beginning at 7:11 PM.
