Sox Bats Go Cold in 5-1 Loss

The Sox Sox bats were shut down by Nashville Sunday afternoon recording only 2 hits in a 5-1 loss. Sounds starter Matt Bruback (8-10) pitched 7 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 7 and walking 4. Sox starter Cory Vance (8-11) recorded his 11th loss of the season pitching 7.2 innings giving up 5 runs on 11 hits striking out 8 and walking 2. Clint Barmes and Pablo Ozuna were the only 2 Sox to record hits, with Barmes hitting a single and Ozuza hitting his 6th triple of the year. The Sox will face Omaha for a 4-game series beginning on Monday at Sky Sox Stadium. The Sox will send Scott Elarton (4-6, 5.74) to the mound in game 1 of that series against the Royals Brad Voyles (2-2, 3.16).
