Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
The home run ball has been the key to Albuquerque's offense in 2004 and it led the way in the final game of the season as the Isotopes hit four homers in a 10-7 win over the Oklahoma RedHawks on Monday afternoon at Isotopes Park.
Joe Dillon hit two homers, his 29th and 30th of the season to lead the way. Dillon's solo shot in the first opened up the scoring and he followed with a two-run shot in the third, giving the Isotopes a 4-2 lead. Mike Colangelo followed with his 16th homer of the season, marking the fourth time this season the Isotopes have hit back-to-back homers. Ryan Jorgensen added his eighth homer of the season in the eighth inning.
Oklahoma rallied for four runs in the fourth to retake the lead off starter Matt Blank. Albuquerque would come back in the sixth, scoring three runs on four hits, including an RBI double by Josh Wilson and a RBI single by Drew Niles for an 8-6 lead. Clint Sodowsky (9-7) earned the win, pitching 2.2 scoreless innings..
Albuquerque drew 9,901 fans to the season finale for a 2004 total of 575,607 and an average of 8,223 fans per game, both third best in the Pacific Coast League.
