New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (10-3-6; 36 pts.) will begin a two-game road swing when they visit Supporters' Shield-leading FC Cincinnati (13-2-4; 43 pts.) at TQL Stadium on Saturday night. The top two teams in the MLS standings will meet for the second time this season for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Jake Zivin and Taylor Twellman will call the match in English, with Oscar Salazar and Carlos Ruiz providing Spanish commentary. Saturday's match can also be heard on the radio locally on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies providing commentary, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.

New England has won its last three games and is without a loss in its last six entering Matchday 22, as the Revolution look to close the seven-point gap with Cincinnati atop the MLS table. The Revolution finished the month of June 3-0-1, sweeping its homestand with three straight multiple-goal performances. New England's in-form attack has produced 33 goals on the year, fifth most league-wide, including seven each by team leaders Carles Gil and Bobby Wood.

On the road, New England holds a 3-3-3 record this season, with a perfect 3-0-0 mark in away games at FC Cincinnati dating back to the Orange and Blue's inaugural MLS season in 2019. New England leads the all-time series, 4-1-2, including a 1-1 draw earlier this season on April 29 in Foxborough. Meanwhile, Cincinnati is enjoying a historic start to its campaign with a perfect 10-0-0 mark at home. With a win in Ohio on Saturday, the Revolution would outlast Cincinnati and be the only remaining team with without a loss at home.

The Revolution claimed their 10th victory of the season with a 2-1 triumph over Toronto FC, powered by goals from Wood and Giacomo Vrioni. Vrioni's goal was the fourth of the year for the Albanian, and his second game-winning tally. Wood now leads all MLS players with three goal-and-assist performances this year. The striker's performance landed him on the MLS Team of the Matchday 22, alongside goalkeeper Djordje Petrović, who appeared as a substitute. On Tuesday of this week, Petrović earned his first career MLS All-Star selection as a coach's pick.

Gil's assist against Toronto was his ninth of the year, tied for the MLS lead, as well as his 100th goal contribution for the club in all competitions. The 2021 MLS MVP is now tied for second league-wide with 16 goal contributions. The Spanish midfielder, who will surpass 10,000 MLS minutes played this weekend, owns one goal and three assists in six career games played against the Orange and Blue.

Midfielder Emmanuel Boateng, who has started the last 11 matches for the Revs, has a team-best two goals scored against Cincinnati. Defender Brandon Bye, who distributed a career-high three assists in the team's last trip to TQL Stadium on May 21, 2022, is expected to make his 150th MLS regular season appearance this weekend, all with New England.
