Finalists Named for MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote Presented by Captain Morgan

NEW YORK - Major League Soccer today announced the four finalists for the MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote presented by Captain Morgan. One of the finalists selected as part of the MLS All-Star fan voting process - Luciano Acosta of FC Cincinnati, Christian Benteke of D.C. United, Roman Bürki of St. Louis CITY SC, and Walker Zimmerman of Nashville SC - will be named the captain of the 2023 MLS All-Star team.

The MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote presented by Captain Morgan opens today, June 30, 2023, and will remain open through 12 p.m. ET----- on Saturday, July 8. All fans can participate in the MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote presented by Captain Morgan on mlssoccer.com/all-star/2023/vote/captain-vote or via the MLS App, and every fan has the unique opportunity to spice up their social media by sharing their pick.

The chosen captain will wear a custom armband designed by local Washington D.C. artist, MasPaz. The armband is unique to the 2023 MLS All Star Game and highlights the importance of celebrating fans that add spice to the game and their communities.

New to the All-Star voting process in 2023, fans had the opportunity to nominate one of their 11 player selections as the captain of the MLS All-Star team. Of the players selected for the 2023 MLS All-Star team, the four players who received the most captain nominations from the fan vote are placed on a ballot and eligible to be selected by fans as the MLS All-Star captain.

The 2023 MLS All-Star Game will feature the MLS All-Stars taking on Arsenal FC, the renowned 13-time English league champions, at Audi Field, home of D.C. United. The MLS All-Star Game and MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G at Audi Field will be available to watch in more than 100 countries and regions in English, Spanish, and French on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Fans can subscribe to MLS Season Pass now through the Apple TV app on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and the web at tv.apple.com.
