Tulsa Oilers News Release
*Old Friends And Foes Gather:* The Tulsa Oilers host the Oklahoma City Blazers tonight in a game preceded by a ceremony to honor Doug Lawrence, who played for both teams in his CHL career.
*Records: *Oilers are 11-21-5 with 27 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division.
Oklahoma City is 22-10-5 for 49 points tied for first place in the Northeast Division.
*Season Series: *This is seventh of 10 meetings between these two teams this season. Each team has won three games with one of the Oklahoma City wins coming in overtime, and one in a shootout. All of the Oiler wins have been in regulation time. Thus Oklahoma City is 3-3-0, for six points, the Oilers are 3-1-2 for eight points. Oklahoma City won the most recent meeting, 5-4 in overtime in Oklahoma City on January 10^th .
*Recent Action: *The Oilers had a two game winning streak end last night in a 4-1 loss to Bossier-Shreveport. Oklahoma City is coming off a 4-3 shootout win over Bossier-Shreveport last Saturday.
*Number 9 Retired:* Prior to tonight's game the Oilers will retire jersey number nine in honor of Doug Lawrence. He is the franchise leader in games played (428), assists (560), points (713), and penalty minutes (1,571). In addition he ranks first in the CHL record book in assists (684), penalty minutes (2,109) and second all time in points (875). Lawrence was a also a member of the Oilers 1992-93 CHL championship team and the 1995-96 CHL champion Oklahoma City Blazers.
*Two Straight: *Jake Riddle scored the Oilers only goal last night. He had scored the Oilers overtime goal against Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday night, giving him the last two goals the Oilers have scored.
*It's A Wrap:* Tonight concludes a five game homestand for the Oilers, their second longest of the season. They will play six straight at home from February 27^th to March 10^th . On the current homestand, the Oilers are 2-2-0.
*Next Up: *The Oilers head to Odessa for a 7:05 p.m. contest tomorrow. Oklahoma City visits Wichita tomorrow night.
