Tonight's Pelicans Game to Go on as Scheduled

MYRTLE BEACH,S.C.(JULY 3, 2014) - Earlier today, reports suggested that tonight's game had been cancelled due to threatening weather. Those reports are false and unsubstantiated. Tonight's game between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, and the Winston-Salem Dash will go on as scheduled. First pitch is slated for 8:05 PM with national coverage on CBS Sports Network beginning at 8:00 PM.

TicketReturn.Com Field is currently covered by the tarp. Additionally, the playing field is designed to United States Golf Association specifications and is capable of draining 12 inches of rain per hour.

"The current radar models show the rain will clear at 6:00 PM. We'll continue to monitor the forecasts and prepare to play as we do every day with inclement weather," stated Pelicans General Manager Andy Milovich. "We are preparing to open gates at 6:00 PM tonight and put on a fantastic show for our fans.".

Gates open at 6:00 PM tonight. Highlights of the night will $1.00 draught Bud and Bud Lights from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM courtesy of Celebrations Nitelife, 96.1 WKZQ, the Weekly Surge, and WBTW News 13, post-game fireworks courtesy of Kangaroo Express and pre-game autographs with team mascots, Splash and Rally.
