Salem RidgeYaks News Release
Frederick, MD (July 3, 2014) - The rain just would not stay away the entire series as the finale between the Salem Sox and Frederick Keys was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up the next time the Sox come to Frederick, on August 27th as part of a doubleheader. Game one will be at 5:00.
All three scheduled games of the series were affected by rain. Game one was limited to five innings, a Keys 3-0 win. And last night's 6-2 Salem win was stopped after eight innings.
The tarp went on the field at around 3:00 pm, and severe thunderstorms scattered through the area all afternoon.
The Sox will head south to open a three game set with the Carolina Mudcats in Zebulon tomorrow evening. The rain out will make the Sox starter to be determined. Cole Sulser is scheduled for the Mudcats. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00.
