Walleye Notes

- This Past Week! Toledo started the week with home win over Evansville 3-0 on the strength of a 26 save performance from goaltender Kent Simpson. The Walleye started strong in Kalamazoo with 2 goals in the first period and went on to beat Kalamazoo Friday 4-1. Saturday night, Toledo was held to a season low 16 shots on goal in a 3-1 loss to Reading. Sunday, Toledo was off the scoreboard by Riley Gill in a 2-0 loss.

- Back in the Postseason! When the Wheeling Nailers defeated Kalamazoo on Sunday, the Walleye clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2010. Toledo was beaten in the first round that year three games to one by the Charlotte Checkers. Toledo's opponent is yet to be determined.

- Simpson Stellar! Goaltender Kent Simpson stopped all 26 shots he faced on Wednesday night to collect his second professional shutout. His first came back on January 31, a 2-0 win in Cincinnati.

- Milestone Reached! With over 15,000 fans over two days this past weekend, Toledo was able to break the single season attendance mark. This year 226,743 fans came into the Huntington Center over the course of the season breaking the record set in 2009-10 of 226,575.

- Gametime! Toledo has just two games left to play in the 2012-13 regular season. The Walleye will skate in Fort Wayne for the final time this season on Wednesday night. Toledo is 6-3-1 this season against the Komets. The season comes to a close Friday night in Wheeling. The Walleye own a 7-1-1 record this season against the Nailers.
