Recap of Last Week

The Road Warriors finished a nine-game road trip in Orlando with a two-game series that began on Wednesday night. The Road Warriors started the series with a tough 4-0 loss. The final game of the series was a great improvement for Greenville. Jordie Johnston and Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored two goals each to lead the team into overtime and eventually a shootout. Brendan Connolly, who tallied two assists in the game, scored in the shootout as well as Johnston to collect a 5-4 victory. The Road Warriors were idle during the weekend with an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot with a Kalamazoo loss. Kalamazoo fell in shootouts on Sunday afternoon and the Road Warriors clinched a playoff spot for the third consecutive year.

Week Ahead

Greenville finishes the regular season this weekend with a two-game home stand on Thursday and Friday against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7 p.m. The Road Warriors have a 6-5-1 record against the Stingrays this season and have gone 1-4-2 in the past seven meetings. The biggest factor has been solving Stingrays' goaltender Ryan Zapolski who has three shutouts against the Road Warriors this season. The final game of the regular season takes place in Gwinnett against the Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. The Road Warriors have not seen the Gladiators since the day before the All-Star Break which was a 4-1 Greenville victory.

Throwback Thursday is featured for the final time this season. Concession prices are discounted with $2 draught beers, hotdogs, pretzels and fountain drinks. Fans can present their BI-LO Bonuscard beginning two hours before the game to receive a buy one get one free discount. In addition, students can present their student ID and receive $5 tickets in the Value Green Section.

The final regular season home game takes place on Friday for Fan Appreciation Night. All Red and Blue Level tickets are only $10. The first 1,200 fans at the game will receive a free New York Rangers hat courtesy of the Road Warriors' NHL affiliate. One Lucky fan will shoot for a chance to win a BMW 328i presented by Century BMW. Every whistle during the game the Road Warriors will randomly select a fan to win a prize. After the game, the Road Warriors Ranger Themed Alternate Jerseys will be auctioned off.

Streaks and Stats

The Road Warriors are tied for fourth with 83 third period goals. The Road Warriors are tied for third with 32.62 shots a game. Marc-Olivier Vallerand is tied for sixth in the league with 44 assists. Brendan Connolly collected his 95th and 96th assists as a Road Warriors and is now the team's all-time leader in the category. Connor Knapp has won consecutive games for the first time in his professional career with a three game win streak that began on March 15th.

Transactions

The Road Warriors signed forward Luke Greiner to an amateur tryout agreement and released forward Paul Lee. The New York Rangers assigned forward Jason Wilson to the Road Warriors from the Connecticut Whale.

Greiner, 22, completed his Harvard University career with eight goals, 11 assists, and 24 penalty minutes in 32 games played. The Faribault, Minnesota native finished second on the team in points, fourth in assists and fourth in goals. Prior to Harvard, Greiner played one season of junior hockey with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL.
