Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators ended last week with four out of a possible six points. The Gladiators still lead the South Division with 87 points and a 42-26-2-1 record on the season. With one game remaining in the regular season, the Gladiators control their own destiny for the South Division crown. A win in their final regular season game this week on Saturday night against Greenville will give Gwinnett its second consecutive regular season division championship. Gwinnett can also clinch the division if the Florida Everblades lose any of their remaining four games in regulation. The Gladiators are still ranked third overall in the Eastern Conference.

Greenville Preview: The Gladiators have posted a 5-5-1-0 record when facing the Greenville Road Warriors this season. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 4-1loss for Gwinnett on January 21st. Greenville won their last game against the Orlando Solar Bears 5-4 in a shootout on March 21st. Forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand leads the Road Warriors with 66 points in 59 games. Greenville's top netminder Nathan Lieuwen, who is currently on recall to Rochester of the AHL, has posted a 2.93 GAA and a 0.903 save percentage for the Road Warriors this season. Greenville is currently ranked third in the South Division with 80 points and a 36-25-2-6 record.

Wednesday, March 20: Gwinnett 5, Cincinnati 3 - W
"ªThe Gwinnett Gladiators scored three third period goals to post a 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Wednesday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The win was the Gladiators fifth straight as Gwinnett remained in first place in the ECHL's South Division. Ryan Donald had the game-winning goal for the Gladiators with 2:09 left in the game. Joey Haddad and Justin Bowers each finished with one goal and two assists in the win.
Friday, March 22: South Carolina 5, Gwinnett 1 - L
The Gwinnett Gladiators five-game winning streak was snapped in a 5-1 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Stingrays opened up a 4-0 lead before Gwinnett pulled netminder Mike Lee in his first game back from the AHL. Gwinnett's only goal came off the stick of Doug Jones shorthanded for his 22nd goal of the season midway through the second period.
Saturday, March 23: Gwinnett 2, South Carolina 1 - W
Joey Haddad scored a pair of goals, including a shorthanded marker 31 seconds into the third period to lift the Gwinnett Gladiators to a 2-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Saturday night. Louis Domingue notched 21 saves for the win for Gwinnett. Gwinnett trailed four minutes into the first period but Haddad answered with this first goal of the game on the power play with less than four minutes left in the opening period.
News & Notes:
Joey Haddad: Assistant Captain Joey Haddad won the game for the Gladiators in the 2-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays March 23rd. Haddad scored a power play goal late in the first to tie the score 1-1 followed by a short-handed goal 31 seconds into the third to give Gwinnett the lead. Haddad has racked up 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 43 games. In the last three games with Gwinnett, the Sydney, NS native posted five points (three goals, two assists).
Rookie Faceoff! Rookie forward Doug Jones is currently on a four-game point-scoring streak and has posted five points (three goals, two assists) in that span. He scored a shorthanded goal on March 22nd against the South Carolina Stingrays to snap the shutout and earned an assist on the game-winning goal March 23rd in the 2-1 win over the Stingrays.
Moving Up: The Gladiators have earned 42 wins on the season which currently shares 3rd all time in Gladiators team history for most wins in a season. With a win in the Gladiators final regular season game, Gwinnett can move up to sole possession of third all-time in Gladiators team history for most wins in a single season.
His Best: Defenseman Ryan Donald notched his 4th goal of the season for the Gladiators in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones. For the defenseman, his four goals this season set a new career high, surpassing his previous best of three goals notched in the 2010-11 season with Reading and then matched again last year while with the Florida Everblades.
A New Pro: The Gladiators signed forward Domenic Monardo out of Lake Superior State University on March 22nd. He appeared in his first professional game in the Gladiators 5-1 loss at South Carolina on Friday and is still looking for his first professional point after he was held scoreless in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Stingrays.
