Tokarski Named CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Dustin Tokarski of the Spokane Chiefs is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday December 2 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a 0.48 goals against average and .977 save percentage in two road games.

Tokarski turned aside 24 of the 25 shots he faced and was named the second star in a 2-1 overtime win over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday. On Sunday, Tokarski made 18 saves for his third shutout of the season in backing the Chiefs to a 2-0 win over the Red Deer Rebels.

The 18-year-old native of Watson, Saskatchewan improved his league-leading goals against average to 1.64 and save percentage to .924 to go along with a 12-1-0-1 record in 16 games.

Kyle Gajewski of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds' was the OHL nominee after posting a 3-0-0-0 record with a 1.30 goals against average and .977 save percentage and Travis Fullerton of the Saint John Sea Dogs was the QMJHL nominee after posting a 2-2-0-0 record with a 1.50 goals against average and .956 save percentage.

The Chiefs will return home on Saturday night versus Swift Current with the annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Spokane-Review Christmas Fund. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear to the game and toss it onto the ice when Spokane scores their first goal of the game. All Teddy Bears collected will be distributed to those in need throughout the community with The Spokesman-Review's Christmas Fund.
