
Titans trump Chiefs, 5-2

Johnstown, PA (March 18, 2007) - The Trenton Titans defeated the Johnstown Chiefs by a score of 5-2 at the Cambria County War Memorial on Sunday afternoon.
Trenton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, as Scott Bertoli scored his 21st goal of the season at 14:55 of the period with Troy Riddle picking up the assist. At 16:48 of the first it was Benoit Mondou who netted his 18th goal of the season and the Titans' second of the game, this one on the power play. Luis Tremblay and Les Haggett picked up assists. To round out the first period scoring Bertoli and Riddle reversed roles as Riddle scored his 25th goal of the year at 17:32 with Bertoli getting the assist.
Mike Pandolfo stretched the Titans lead to 4-0 at 8:44 of the second period after stealing the puck from the Chiefs' defense and beating Morgan Cey. Gus Katsuras cut the Titans' lead to 4-1 at 14:50 of the second when he pounced on a loose puck in front of the net and tucked it behind Titans netminder Gregg Naumenko. It was Katsuras' sixth of the year and he was assisted by Zybnek Hrdel and Maxime Boisclair.
In the third period, Scott Bertoli picked up his third point of the game when he assisted on Luis Tremblay's fourth goal of the year at the 16:26 mark. Newcomer Rob Lehtinen scored his first professional goal at the 18:57 mark of the period to set the final at 5-2.
Starting goaltender Morgan Cey made 21 saves on 26 shots for the Chiefs, while Naumenko finished with 23 saves for Trenton. The Chiefs were unable to score on four powerplay opportunities while Trenton went 1-for-4.
