Titans Stun Bolts in Ten-Inning Thriller

OTTAWA, ON- The Windy City ThunderBolts dropped the last game of a three-game series against the Ottawa Titans Thursday night at Ottawa Stadium.

A pitchers duel themed the ballgame, led by Windy City's Garrett Christman. Christman threw 8.2 innings allowing four hits, while striking out two and walking one in the no decision.

Ottawa's Damon Casetta-Stubbs threw seven innings allowing no runs and giving up three hits while striking out six.

Windy City's Derrick Edington escaped a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth. In relief of Christman, Edington managed a fly out from Titans shortstop Brian Bannon, sending the game into extra innings.

In the top of the tenth inning with a runner assigned to second base, Bolts' right fielder Paul Coumoulous sacrificed Will Riley to third base. The next batter, Matt Morgan, ripped an RBI single into left field, breaking the ice for the first run of the contest, making it a 1-0 Bolts lead.

Following a Troy Viola single, left fielder Dan Robinson elevated the runners over to second and third base with a ground out to the mound off Trevor Clifton. With two outs, third baseman Junior Martina sliced a two-run single for a 3-0 Bolts lead heading into the bottom of the tenth inning.

Daiveyon Whittle (2-2) entered the bottom of the tenth inning for Windy City, walking the first batter he faced, Kanta Kobayshi, to put baserunners at first and second. After a fly out to center field, Whittle walked designated hitter Jason Dicochea to load the bases. After a walk to Sicnarf Loopstok that gave Ottawa their first run, Whittle struck out Jamey Smart swinging for the second out of the inning.

A.J. Wright drove a 2-1 pitch out of the ballpark in left field in dramatic fashion, walking off the ThunderBolts with a grand slam to win the game and capture the series for the Titans winning the game 5-3.

Windy City is back in action Friday, June 23rd against the Quebec Capitals. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 CT. Windy City's Adrien Reese (0-2, 3.60) takes the mound against Quebec, who has not yet named a starter.
