Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, have announced the receipt of three forwards from Albany. J. S. Berube, Harry Young (both assigned from Albany (AHL) from New Jersey (NHL)) and Kelly Zajac (assigned from Albany). In a separate transaction, goaltender Brooks Ostergard was received in a trade with Kalamazoo for future considerations.

Berube (Matane, PQ) returns to Trenton for the second time this season. In his previous stint he played 10 games, grabbing three goals and five assists. In 71 appearances with the Trenton organization over the last three seasons, Berube, a 7th round pick (205thoverall) of New Jersey in the 2008 NHL Draft, has 30 points (12G, 18A).

A first year pro, Zajac (Winnipeg, MB) is also making his second appearance with the Titans. In 12 games, he scored four goals and five assists his first time through Trenton.

Like his Albany teammates, Young (Windsor, ON) is coming back to Trenton a second time this season. After playing three games with Trenton in the 2010-11 season, Young has spent time over the last two years with both Kalamazoo and Trenton. The former defenseman and 7thround (202nd overall) pick of New Jersey in the 2008 NHL Draft has an assist and 12 PIM in five total appearances in Trenton.

Ostergard (Cleveland, OH) is in his second ECHL season and joins his fourth team this year. Gaining an OTL in his lone appearance with the Chicago Express last year, he has been on the rosters of the Orlando SolarBears and Alaska Aces before coming to the Titans from Kalamazoo. He has seen limited time playing behind Joel Martin this year, seeing only 19 minutes of action, stopping nine of the 10 shots he faced.

The Trenton Titans returned in the 2011-12 hockey season after a five year hiatus and boasted a 26.1% increase in attendance over the previous year, the largest of any team in the (then) 20-team ECHL.
