TONIGHT:

The Ontario Reign (36-13-3-2=77 points) will host the Stockton Thunder (27-21-5-4=63 points) for the 6th of 11 meetings this season. The Thunder will face the Reign again on Sunday, Feb. 24 in Stockton. This season the teams have a 3-1-1-0 record against the Thunder.

The Reign are 20-7-2-0 at home and the Thunder are 10-14-3-3 on the road.

HOW THEY RANK:

The Reign are first in the Pacific Division, second in the Western Conference, and second in the league with 77 points. The Thunder are next in line for the Pacific Division at second, they are fourth in the Western Conference, and 10th in the league.

IN THE LAST FIVE:

The Reign's win on Wednesday night against the Thunder snapped their 4 game losing streak. In the past five games, the Reign are one for 21 in power-play goals and 24 for 32 in penalty kills.

THUNDER CAN'T CATCH THE REIGN:

In the 2011-12 season the top two Reign point leaders against the Thunder were, C.J. Stretch at 13 points and Couture at 12 points. Tonight, both Couture and Stretch return to the ice with two points apiece against the Thunder. Stretch is the leading scorer for Ontario with 55 points (27g, 28a), beating out the Thunder's leading scorer Justin Maylan with 40 points (18g, 22a).

When leading after the first period, the Reign maintain a record of 20-0-1-1 in comparison to the Thunder who holds a record of 13-3-3-0 when leading at the end of the first. The Reign are second in the league with 62 first period goals, the Thunder have 49 goals in the first this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

Ontario will have to watch Stockton's special teams as the Thunder rank fifth in the league with their overall power play record 60 for 284 (21.1 %). The Reign are tied for first with zero shorthanded goals scored against them at home.
