Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - Ray DiLauro scored his fifth goal, with assists from Ryan Hayes and Chris Poli, to give the Titans (19-28-3-5-46) a 4-3 victory over the Elmira Jackals (32-20-2-2-68) Saturday night before 3,464 fans at the Sun National Bank Center.

DiLauro's tally topped an evening in which Titans captain Randy Rowe scored a pair of goals - his 13th and 14th - and goalie Adam Dekker, just arrived from the New Jersey Outlaws, the Titans' Federal Hockey League affiliate, played solidly in net.

Rowe captured the First Ace, while Dekker claimed the Third Ace. Dekker stopped 29-of-32 Elmira shots.

"For me, this was huge,'' the 27-year-old native of Muskegon, Mich., told reporters. "I had been in the ECHL briefly before (with Wheeling in 2008-09 and 2009-10), but this was my first win at this level.

"When (Outlaws) coach (Chris Firriolo) called me earlier today, and told me I was playing in Trenton tonight, I was excited. I just figured I'd give it my best.''

He did, and the Titans earned a needed victory.

Titans coach Vince Williams was naturally quite pleased with his team's effort.

"The work tonight was just outstanding,'' said Williams.

Rowe put the Titans ahead, 1-0, with 3:37 remaining in the first period, on assists from Tyler Hostetter and Steve Silva. Ryan Hayes then made it 2-0 with his 17th with 4:09 remaining in the second period. Dustin Gazley got the Jackals on the board on a pretty play with 1:11 remaining in the second period.

The Jackals then took the lead, 3-2, on John Kurtz's power-play goal with 6:29 remaining. But the Titans stuck back 15 seconds later on Rowe's second goal, assisted by Andy Thomas and Andy Bohmbach, who extended his point-scoring streak to 10 games.

That set the stage for DiLauro's game-winner.

The Titans and Jackals meet again at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sun National Bank Center.
