
Titans Edge Chiefs Again in Shootout 4-3

TRENTON, NJ (December 5, 2004) â Titans goaltender Chris Houle stopped all four shootout attempts by Johnstown while Phil Lewandowski and Mathieu Brunelle scored on each of their attempts to lift Trenton to a 4-3 victory in front of 4,864 at Sovereign Bank Arena. It was the fourth time in as many games that the Titans defeated Johnstown after regulation.
Johnstown opened the first period with two power play goals by Grant Stevenson and Jeremy Van Hoof just :59 apart to take a 2-0 lead.
Trenton responded with two quick goals of their own in the first period as Rick Kowalsky lit the lamp at 14:11 on the power play. One minute ntwenty-six seconds later, Phil Lewandowski put in a rebound off Jerramie Domish slapshot to tie the score 2-2. Kowalsky now four goals and two assists in his last three games.
Mathieu Brunelle would give the Titans the lead at 4:36 of the second period with his fourth tally of the year.
Johnstown's Joe Tallari would notch the equalizer 6:14 into the third to send the game into overtime and the eventual shootout.
Chris Houle finished the game with 34 saves, 16 in the second period, to raise his record 5-1-2.
The Titans will start a five-game road trip Friday, December 10 against the Dayton Bombers at 7:00pm.
