
'Blades Win Season-High Fifth Straight with 4-2 Victory over Pee Dee

FLORENCE, SC â The Florida Everblades (11-9-0) picked up their season-high fifth straight win on Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 win over the Pee Dee Pride (12-6-2) at the Florence Civic Center. Brent McDonald notched two more goal to help propel the âBlades to their third straight road win.
For the fifth straight game, the Everblades scored first, with McDonald notching his fourth goal in the last two games when he slipped the puck past Pride goaltender Nick Boucher at 10:24 of the opening period. The âBlades quickly made it a 2-0 lead when Matt Hendricks lifted a backhander into the net just 41 seconds later for the two-goal lead after one period.
Pee Dee cut the Everblades lead in half when Kevin Cooper blasted a shot from the top of the left circle past Florida goaltender Craig Kowalski at 11:47 of the middle period. However, the âBlades quickly regained their two-goal lead when McDonald notched his second goal of the night by sliding a shot between the pads of Boucher just 1:53 after the Pride had cut the lead to one.
The Everblades hung on to their two-goal lead throughout the first 18 minutes of the third period before the Pride cut the âBlades lead to one on Tyler Kindle's fourth goal of the season at 18:51 with the goaltender pulled. For the second time in the game however, the Everblades regained their two-goal lead less than a minute later when Keith Anderson scored into the empty Pee Dee net with 52 seconds remaining.
Kowalski won his fourth straight game by turning away 37 of 39 Pee Dee shots, bringing his record to 7-4-0. Boucher suffered the loss for Pee Dee allowing three goals on 27 Florida shots which brought his record to 7-4-2. Florida finished the night 0-for-1 on the power play, while the Pride finished 0-for-3 on the man advantage.
Florida wraps up their four-game road trip on Tuesday, December 7 at 7:05 p.m. when they take on the Gwinnett Gladiators in Duluth, GA.
