Trenton Devils News Release

TROY, OH (December 16, 2004) - Despite twice giving up a goal-lead, the Trenton Titans were able to prevail in the shootout, 3-2 over the Dayton Bombers in front of 3,059 at Hobart Arena.

After a scoreless first period, Matt Zultek put the Titans up 1-0 with just 30.1 seconds left the middle stanza when he beat Andrew Penner with a wrist shot inside the near post.

The Bombers would tie it up 1:04 into the third period when Shawn Limpright put Steve Goertzen's centering pass past Chris Houle.

Rick Kowalsky put Trenton back up by one goal with 3:01 remaining with a turnaround backhander that squeezed through Penner's pads.

Once again, Dayton would not go away easily as Tyler Sloan made the score 2-2 with just 1:40 remaining in regulation.

Trenton could not convert on a power play in overtime, but three Titans would score in the shootout as Houle turned away 3 of 4 to clinch the win.

The Titans return home to host the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, December 17 at 7:30pm and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies on Saturday, December 18 at 7:00pm
