Savage Placed On Waivers

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have placed forward Reggie Savage on waivers. In conjunction, Toledo Storm head coach Nick Vitucci announced today that Sam Paolini would take over the role of Captain.

A veteran of 34 National Hockey League games, Reggie had 2 goals and 1 assist in 17 games with the Toledo Storm this season. Reggie tallied his first goal with Toledo on November 26th at Johnstown, and his second goal was the game winner against Atlantic City on December 3rd. Savage had 5 goals and 7 assists in his 34 NHL games between the Washington Capitals and the Quebec Nordiques.

Paolini becomes the new captain of the Toledo Storm. Sam is Toledo's leader in points with 19 (7-12). He is also tops on the Storm with five multiple point games. A 2003-04 ECHL all-star, Sam has 5 points in his last 3 games (3-2). Sam, who played his college hockey at Cornell University, has also appeared in one game in the AHL with Utah earlier this year.

Toledo is on the road this Friday night in Peoria. The Storm are home Saturday and Sunday hosting the Reading Royals. Toledo Hockey...A History of Champions!
