Home-Away-From-Home Game Ends With Titans Win, 3-2

Troy, OH – The Dayton Bombes suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to the Trenton Titans in front of 3,059 at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio on Thursday night.

Following a scoreless first period, Matt Zultek put the Titans up 1-0 with just 30.1 seconds left the second when he beat Andrew Penner with a wrist shot inside the left goal post.

The Bombers tied it, 1-1, :64 seconds into the third period when SHAWN LIMPRIGHT beat Titans goaltender Chris Houle. It was Limpright's first goal since a 4-3 shootout win in Trenton on November 12th – 15 games ago.

Rick Kowalsky put Trenton back up by one goal, 2-1, at 15:59 of the third period. But with 1:40 seconds remaining, TYLER SLOAN scored his second goal in as many games to tie the game, 2-2, and send it to overtime.

Trenton could not score on a power play in overtime, but three Titans scored in the shootout and Houle turned away 3 of 4 shooters to clinch the win. The Titans are now 9-1-2 on the road, while Dayton is winless in regulation in their last 4 games (0-3-1).

Dayton opens a home-and-home series with the Johnstown Chiefs tomorrow (Friday) at the Nutter Center. The "Coaches Corner Pre-Game Show" starts at 6:50 PM on SportsOne, WONE-AM 980.
