Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that right wing Dan Sullivan has been traded to the Louisiana IceGators for future considerations.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound forward appeared in just four games with Reading this season. He was held scoreless and compiled 12 penalty minutes. During the last year and a half the Weston, Ontario native has skated in just five professional games due to injuries and suspensions. Sullivan most recently served a 12-game ECHL suspension for inappropriate conduct, which took place in early November.

"I am happy for Dan that he has a chance to show how he can perform on the ice," commented Royals coach Derek Clancey. "He should be a good fit for Louisiana and I hope he makes the most this opportunity."

The Reading Royals are entering their fourth season in Reading, Pennsylvania after relocating from Columbus, Ohio. The Royals enjoyed their first Kelly Cup playoff appearance last season, claiming the Northern Division Title and were one win away from qualifying for the Kelly Cup Finals. The Royals and the City of Reading are proud to be hosting the 13th annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition presented by Coors Light on January 25 and 26.

The Reading Royals finish their three-game homestand this Friday, December 13 against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. The game marks the final contest of 2004 for the reigning Northern Division Champions. Atlantic City claimed the first meeting, 1-0, in Boardwalk Hall, on October 30. Jake Moreland stopped 37 Royals offerings to record the shutout. This is the second of ten meetings scheduled in the regular season between these North Division rivals.
