The New York Titans of the National Lacrosse League are set to battle the Toronto Rock at home at the Garden on Saturday, March 3rd at 8PM EST.
New York Ranger Brendan Shanahan, who is an owner of the Toronto Rock, will be in attendance at Saturday's game.
Titans Captain Casey Powell enters Saturday's game as the league's leader in assists with 43 for the season and third in the NLL in points with 60. If he were to continue his current pace, Powell would finish with 76 assists for the season which would break the league record of 71 set by Josh Sanderson of Toronto in 2005. Pat Maddalena is ranked 6th in the league in points with 53 and Ryan Boyle isn't far behind with 52 points.
Two players on the Rock rank in the top ten in the NLL in assists, Blaine Manning is ranked third in assists with 36 and Josh Sanderson is ranked 10th behind Ryan Boyle with 30.
Both Powell and Boyle were selected to the All-Star reserve team for the East Division. The 2007 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game will be played at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, March 10 at 10PM EST.
