Lough named assistant captain of West Division All-Star Team

GLENDALE, AZ --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that Arizona Sting defenseman Peter Lough has been named Assistant Captain of the 2007 West Division All-Star Team. Calgary's Tracy Kelusky will also serve as an assistant, while Colorado's Gavin Prout has been named Captain of the team. Buffalo's John Tavares, the NLL's all-time leading scorer, will captain the East Division All-Stars, with Chicago's Cam Woods and Rochester's Shawn Williams set to serve as his assistants.

Last year Peter Lough served as Team Captain on the West Division All-Star Team, leading the elite squad to a 14-13 win over the East at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. In 2005, he dished out a team-high four assists in a losing effort as the West fell to the East by a score of 11-10 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary. This season's All-Star Game is scheduled to take place at the Rose Garden in Portland on Saturday, March 10. The match will be shown on tape delay the following day, Sunday March 11, on VERSUS at 12:30am Arizona time.

Currently ranked sixth in the NLL in both face-off wins (79) and penalty minutes (36), Lough is Arizona's all-time leader in loose balls with 345. The 32-year old native of Vancouver, British Columbia has registered 88GP-39G-56A-95P-587LB thus far in his career as a member of the Montreal Express, Columbus Landsharks, and Arizona Sting.
