Tips Open Five-Game Homestand Friday, Continue with Pink the Rink on Saturday

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), seven-time U.S. Division champion and two-time Western Conference champion of the Western Hockey League, will open a five-game homestand tomorrow with a 7:35pm home game against the Kamloops Blazers and continue on Saturday with Pink The Rink presented by Safeway Foundation and Albertsons, when the Silvertips host the Seattle Thunderbirds at 7:05 p.m. at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Every ticket purchased will include up to a $7 donation to Providence General Foundation to help provide free mammograms and related breast cancer screening services for those in need. Each year, Providence Comprehensive Breast Center provides more than 12,000 screening mammograms for women in the northern Puget Sound communities, and over the last ten seasons the Silvertips along with community partners, including Safeway, have helped raise more than $675,000 to go toward providing free mammograms and related services for women across the region who are uninsured and cannot afford to pay for these screenings.

The Silvertips have averaged over 7,200 fans in attendance for Pink The Rink since the event first began in 2009-10, and are 5-1-0-0 in the last six event games.

Fans will be invited to contribute to the event with several fundraising opportunities, along with the following activities:

- Tickets: on sale as low as $17, with proceeds automatically forwarded to Providence

- Signed, game worn jersey auction: right off the back of every Silvertips player on the active roster, proceeds benefit Providence and offer an exclusive "Buy It Now" opportunity before each jersey is offered at a silent auction event on Oct. 12. Each jersey subject to availability and as of Thursday, Oct. 10, only seven game issued Silvertips jerseys remain available. Fans in attendance, who successfully bid and win their respective game jersey, will have an opportunity to pose with their selected player and jersey after the game.

- Pre-game: special guest breast cancer survivors will join the Silvertips along the ice for starting lineup introductions.

The Tips ticket packages are on sale now, available at www.everettsilvertips.com/season or by calling (425) 252-5100 during normal business hours. Seven game packs are now on sale, offering a bonus eighth game for free.

UP NEXT: The Tips, entering today tied for first place in the U.S. Division following a 3-1-0-0 road trip, return home on Friday, Oct. 11 for a 7:35 p.m. match-up with the Blazers at Angel of the Winds Arena. Hockey Happy Hour presented by Broad Stroke Associates offers savings of $15 per ticket, included with a free beverage voucher, and doors opening at 6:00 p.m. to all fans in attendance.
