WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: The TinCaps beat the Whitecaps, 3-2. 18-year-old righty Luis Patiño shined in his Midwest League debut, allowing only 1 earned run in 5 innings. Ben Sheckler followed with 3 scoreless innings of relief, and Jared Carkuff earned the save. At the plate, Gabriel Arias and Luis Almanzar both had 2-hit games that included run-scoring hits. Almanzar also added a sacrifice fly. West Michigan had started the scoring in the first, but the TinCaps tied it in the second, went ahead in the third with a pair, and the Whitecaps' only response was a run in the sixth.

WHAT'S ON THE LINE: The TinCaps have taken 2 of the first 3 in this 4-game series. A victory would give Fort Wayne a series win after dropping 3 consecutive series vs. Wisconsin, @ Quad Cities, and @ Kane County.

COLTS NIGHT: Pro Bowl tight end Jack Doyle and quarterback Jacoby Brissett will be signing autographs for fans pregame tonight and then throwing out ceremonial first pitches. The Colts' mascot, Blue, and cheerleaders will also be here, signing autographs and entertaining fans in between innings. This is the 4th annual "Colts At Bat" with the TinCaps. Previous player appearances have included: kicker Adam Vinateri (2015), longsnapper Matt Overton (2015), defensive tackle David Perry (2016), safety Clatyon Geathers (2016), wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (2017), and safety Darius Butler (2017). Former ball kicker Pat McAfee also visited in 2016.

ALL-STAR MATCHUP: TinCaps pitching coach Burt Hooton and Whitecaps manager Lance Parrish are both former MLB All-Stars and World Series winners. Hooton pitched in The Show with the Cubs, Dodgers, and Rangers from 1971-86. Parrish was a catcher for the Tigers, Phillies, Angels, Mariners, Indians, Pirates, and Blue Jays from 1977-1995. Hoot was an All-Star with the Dodgers in 1981, while the "Big Wheel" was a six-time All-Star (with the Tigers in '80, 82-86; the Phils in '88; and Angels in '90). Burt also won a World Series with the Dodgers in '81, while Lance was a member of the Tigers' 1984 World Series-winning team. The only year they were both in the AL was '86. Parrish had 7 plate appearances against Hooton, going 2-for-6 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is tied for 2nd in runs (29), tied for 5th in walks (29), 9th in OBP (.426), and tied for 7th in stolen bases (11)... Esteury Ruiz is tied for 4th in triples (3), tied for 9th in total bases (62), and tied for 13th in home runs (5)... Carlos Belen is tied for 13th in RBIs (21).
