WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: The TinCaps overcame an early 1-0 deficit against the Bowling Green Hot Rods to win, 3-1. Gabriel Arias had a game-tying sacrifice fly in the fourth. An inning later, Luis Almanzar hammered his 1st homer of the season, a solo shot. The 'Caps added an insurance run in the seventh, as Jeisson Rosario scored on a wild pitch. Osvaldo Hernandez battled through 6 innings of 1-run ball. Austin Smith held the lead with 2 scoreless, setting it up for Evan Miller's 4th save of the year.

BROOMS: The TinCaps are coming off a 3-game sweep of the Hot Rods, who have the best record in the league. It was Fort Wayne's 4th 3-game sweep of the year. Previously at home this season, the 'Caps swept Beloit (May 1-3), South Bend (May 18-20), and Great Lakes (June 15-17). The Hot Rods hadn't been swept since April 9-12 @ South Bend.

HOT CAPS: The TinCaps have won 5 in a row, matching their longest winning streak of the season. The team also won 5 consecutive contests May 16-20 vs. West Michigan and South Bend.

HOME SWEET HOME: The TinCaps went 8-2 on their 10-game homestand. Fort Wayne is 26-16 at home this year, including 18-6 since May 14. The 'Caps are slashing .264/.346/.379 at home this year compared to .216/.298/.317 on the road, where they're 11-23. The TinCaps have averaged 5.0 runs per game at home and 3.6 per game on the road.

ORNELAS ON BASE: Tirso Ornelas is on a 27-game on-base streak, which is the 2nd longest active streak in the Midwest League, and the longest such streak for a TinCap this season. (Lake County infielder Tyler Friis is on a 28-game streak, but currently on the DL). The longest in the league this year: 31 games, Michael Beltre, Dayton.) Since May 24, Ornelas has hit .297 with a .425 OBP. He has 6 doubles, 3 triples, 4 homers, and 16 RBIs during the run. Maybe most impressive, he's walked more times (19) than he's struck out (16). The franchise record for consecutive games on base is 56 - set by Sean Burroughs in 1999.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 5th in runs (48), 6th in walks (43), and 7th in OBP (.390)... Esteury Ruiz 3rd in SB (23)... Travis Radke is 3rd in saves (10).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 10th in BB% (15%)... Tirso Ornelas is tied for 9th in BB/K (0.79) and tied for 8th lowest Swing and Miss% (7%).

BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted an ERA of 3.08 over the last 57 games. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had allowed 60 ER in 72.1 IP for a 7.47 ERA.
