SATURDAY NIGHT: Luis Patiño threw 5 no-hit innings, but the TinCaps fell, 6-3, against Lansing in front of the 6th sellout of the season. In the loss, Esteury Ruiz, Nick Feight & Jack Suwinski all had 2-hit performances, and Fort Wayne outhit Lansing, 9-6.

MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY: More than 2,000 complimentary tickets have been given to military members (active duty and veterans) and their families for today's game. The cost of the tickets has been underwritten by Omni Source, Steel Dynamics, and the San Diego Padres. TinCaps players Jack Suwinski, Juan Fernandez, Tirso Ornelas, and Travis Radke recently visited the 122nd Fighter Wing, a unit of the Air National Guard, in Fort Wayne. The team is wearing red, white, and blue patriotic jerseys today that they'll wear again on the Fourth of July. On the 4th, the jerseys will be auctioned off at TinCapsJersey.com with all proceeds benefitting Honor Flight Northeast Indiana.

HE'S BACK: MacKenzie Gore has been reinstated from the Disabled List. Gore's last appearance came on May 14 vs. West Michigan when he threw 3 innings, scattered 6 hits, allowed 3 runs, while striking out 3. Gore is ranked as the top pitching prospect in the Padres system as well as the top left-handed pitching prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline. He was selected as the #3 overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft.

PIGGYBACKING: Aaron Leasher will serve as the "piggyback" to MacKenzie Gore on the mound Sunday. Leasher has piggybacked twice this season and fared well. In relief appearances, Leasher has thrown 7 innings, allowing 2 hits, no runs, 1 walk, and striking out 11.

HOME SWEET HOME: The TinCaps are slashing .252/.345/.356 at home this year compared to .222/.306/.321 on the road. Fort Wayne has averaged 5.0 runs per game at home and 3.7 per game on the road. Individually, Luis Campusano is in part leading the way at home with a line of .342/.400/.447 while Tirso Ornelas is at .318/.437/.435.

ROAD WARRIORS: The TinCaps are back home for 4 after a stretch of playing 14 of 17 on the road. Meanwhile, the Lugnuts are in the midst of a 13-game road trip.

HEATING UP: Justin Lopez slashed .267/.315/.465 in the month of May after slashing .197/.265/.246 in April. Lopez had 4 doubles, 2 triples, and all 3 of his home runs in the month along with 9 RBIs. Luis Campusano slashed .304/.380/.377 in the month of May after batting .267/.313/.350 in April.

CLUTCH HITTING: Tirso Ornelas is slashing .316/.426/.505 with 4 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs with runners on base. Ornelas is 2nd on the team with 25 RBIs this season. Ornelas, a left-handed batter, is hitting .313 against lefties this season, while batting .253 against righties. Of his 5 homers this season, 2 have come against lefties. (Ornelas has 32 ABs against lefties compared to 166 ABs against right-handers.)

BURGEONING BULLPEN: TinCaps relievers have posted a 3.50 ERA over their last 41 games. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, Jordan Guerrero, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had a 7.47 ERA.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 5th in OBP (.398), 8th in walks (35), tied for 6th in runs (39)... Esteury Ruiz is tied for 3th in SB (19).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 4th in Line Drive % (26%) and 11th in BB% (16%)... Tirso Ornelas is tied for 5th with the lowest Swing and Miss% (6%).

ALL-STARS: On Wednesday, 4 TinCaps were announced as Midwest League All-Stars (C Luis Campusano, LHP Aaron Leasher, LHP Nick Margevicius, and LHP Travis Radke). Campusano is slashing .286/.358/.374 in 41 games this season with 4 doubles, 3 home runs, and 24 RBIs. Leasher holds a 3.08 ERA in 11 appearances (9 starts) with 54 strikeouts in 52.2 IP. Margevicius has a 3.16 ERA in 10 starts with a team-high 73 strikeouts and only 9 walks in 57.0 IP. Radke boasts a 2.41 ERA in 19 relief appearances with 51 strikeouts to just 7 walks in 33.2 IP.
