WEDNESDAY: The TinCaps routed the Dragons, 12-0. Fort Wayne scored the game's first run in the 5th and then turned the pitchers' duel into a blowout with 9 runs in the 6th and added a couple more in the 9th for good measure. Luis Patiño, Fred Schlichtholz, and Austin Smith teamed for the 'Caps' 7th shutout win of the season.

SEASON BESTS: The TinCaps set the following season bests on Wednesday... most runs in an inning (9 in 6th)... most hits in an inning (9 in 6th)... most home runs (3)... most home runs by an individual - Kelvin Melean (2)... most RBIs by an individual (5)... tied fewest hits allowed by a starter - Luis Patiño (0)... tied fewest hits allowed as a team (2).

IN CONTROL: TinCaps pitchers have walked the fewest batters in the Midwest League this season - 290 in 869.0 IP. That's only 3.0 BB/9. Fort Wayne also has the best ratio of strikeouts to walks (3.05/1).

PODO POWER: Since making his 2018 TinCaps debut on May 18, Robbie Podorsky leads the Midwest League in batting average at .365. Right now he's on a 16-game on-base streak that began on July 2. In this stretch, he's batting .410 with a .500 OBP - both league highs.

MELLY GETS ON: Kelvin Melean has reached base in 12 of his first 13 starts with the TinCaps this season, since debuting July 8... On Wednesday he became the first TinCap with a multi-homer game since Hudson Potts hit 2 home runs at Parkview Field last Aug. 30 against Great Lakes. (Potts, by the way, is on a 12-game hitting streak right now with High-A Lake Elsinore. Potts is slashing .285/.352/.516 with 17 homers and 56 RBIs in 96 games.)... Prior to Wednesday, Melean had gone 170 career MiLB games, and 715 plate appearances, without a home run.

NO LUCK FOR SUWINSKI: Jack Suwinski has the 3rd lowest Batting Average on Balls in Play (BABIP) in the MWL at .250. An average BABIP is usually around .300. In 2017 with Fort Wayne, Suwinski had a .302 BABIP.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is tied for 6th in runs (60), 7th in OBP (.384), and tied 8th in walks (50)... Esteury Ruiz is 3rd in SB (33)... Robbie Podorsky is tied for 9th in SB (21)... Osvaldo Hernandez is 1st in ERA (1.97)... Aaron Leasher is 8th in ERA (3.39)... Travis Radke is tied for 3rd in saves (12).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 9th in BB% (14%) & 8th in BB/K (0.69)... Luis Campusano has the 10th lowest K% (15%).

BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted a 2.96 ERA over the last 81 games since April 25. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had allowed 60 ER in 72.1 IP for a 7.47 ERA.

ON THE SHELF: The TinCaps currently have 3 key players on the Disabled List in starting pitcher Mason Thompson (tricep strain), infielder Justin Lopez (broken left thumb), and outfielder Tirso Ornelas (right wrist).
