FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps jumped out to a big lead early and never trailed in a 13-2 drubbing of the Bowling Green Hot Rods, Sunday at Parkview Field. Jason Hagerty doubled twice and drove in three.

Fort Wayne had 13 hits in the first two games of the series; the TinCaps cracked 15 hits in the finale.

In the bottom of the second, the TinCaps struck for a six-run uprising. With two on and nobody out, Jon Alia stroked an RBI single. Later in the inning, Danny Payne pulled a two-out RBI single into right to double the lead. After Jeudy Valdez was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Jason Hagerty hit a bases-clearing double to make it 5-0. Nate Freiman made it back-to-back RBI doubles by pounding one to the wall in right, pushing the lead to 6-0. All of the runs were unearned thanks to a Bowling Green error.

Tyler Bortnick's solo homer in the fourth put the Hot Rods on the board, but the TinCaps responded in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of runs to make it 8-1. After a Bowling Green run in the top of the sixth, Fort Wayne scored four more in the bottom of the frame, all with two outs. Jonathan Galvez punched a two-run single to right to balloon the lead to 12-2.

An opposite-field home run by Wande Olabisi in the eighth finished the scoring; it was his third round-tripper of the season.

Fort Wayne LHP Pedro Hernandez (2-3) picked up the win, allowing just one run in five innings. Bowling Green RHP Wilking Rodriguez (4-6) took the loss in his third straight start.

Fort Wayne avoided a sweep to improve to 1-2 in the second half, 37-36 overall. Bowling Green dipped to 2-1 in the half, 33-39 for the year.

The TinCaps hit the road for six games beginning Monday against the Dayton Dragons (Class-A Cincinnati Reds) at 7:00 p.m. Fort Wayne LHP Nick Greenwood (4-3) draws the start opposite Dayton LHP Justin Walker (1-8).
