Burlington Bees News Release

Grand Chute, WI (June 27, 2010) - The Bees rallied to tie Sunday afternoon's contest at two in the sixth inning. The jubilation was short-lived, however, as the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers responded with three in the bottom half of the frame en route to a 6-3 win to sweep the series from the Bees at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

With Wisconsin leading 2-0 in the sixth, Wil Myers led off the inning with a double. After Joey Lewis grounded out to move the runner to third, Carlo Testa and Rene Oriental came up with back-to-back singles to knot the game at two in support of starter Sugar Ray Marimon (L, 1-2).

The Wisconsin offense, however, would not be kept down, responding immediately a trio of runs in the bottom half of the frame. Marimon walked D'Vontrey Richardson and allowed a double to Scooter Gennett to give the Rattlers runners on second and third with nobody out. Mitch Hodge entered the game and allowed four consecutive hits, including a two-run single by Kentrail Davis and an RBI base knock from Cutter Dykstra.

Wisconsin added a run in the seventh on a Richardson single to go up 6-2. Testa responded with a solo home run in the eighth to close out the scoring.

Del Howell (W, 1-2), who failed to escape the second inning in an April start in Burlington, held the Bees to two runs on five hits in six innings with four strikeouts. Marimon, who retired 12 straight at one point, allowed four runs on three hits with three strikeouts.

Testa's single extended his hitting streak to seven games. He led the Bees with two hits, a walk, and two RBI.

The Bees return home to open a six-game homestand on Monday night at Community Field. Enjoy Dollar Monday specials on hot dogs, popcorn, and Pepsi products as the Bees welcome the Peoria Chiefs to town for three games.
