FORT WAYNE, IN - Great Lakes Loons pitchers walked 10 Fort Wayne batters as the TinCaps evened up the three-game series with a 6-4 win Thursday night in front of a crowd of 6,705 at Parkview Field.

The TinCaps won the game despite a dreadful defensive effort that included five errors, three by shortstop Jonathan Galvez.

The Loons hit two home runs in the game - the 15th of the season by Brian Cavazos-Galvez and J.T. Wise's 10th - and out-hit Fort Wayne 10-7.

Edwin Contreras surrendered four runs (two earned) and walked four in 3 2/3 innings in a spot-start for lefty Ryan Christenson. Contreras (3-1) recorded his first loss of the year. Andy Suiter and J.B. Paxson followed out of the bullpen and walked three each.

TinCaps starter Pedro Hernandez allowed one earned run in 4 1/3 innings but could not continue the game after injuring himself covering third base on an unsuccessful rundown play in the fifth. Stiven Osuna (3-3) entered in relief and did not allow an earned run in 2 1/3 innings for a scorer's-decision victory. Miles Mikolas notched the final three outs for his 11th save.

Cavazos-Galvez paced the Loons with three hits to increase his average to .319. Nine-hole hitter Everett Williams went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks. First baseman Nate Freiman notched two doubles.

The Loons (83-45 overall, 40-19 second half) and TinCaps (73-56, 37-22) conclude their three-game series Friday night beginning at 7:05pm. Right-hander Matt Magill (7-4, 3.28 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Loons against righty Jerry Sullivan (7-4, 4.20). The game will be broadcast on ESPN 100.9-FM and online at Loons.com.
