The Portland Timbers will square off against Cascadia-rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC in MLS regular-season action tonight, Sunday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. (Pacific), at Providence Park. Portland will play as the visiting team in their match against Whitecaps FC at Providence Park, which features a regional television broadcast on ROOT SPORTS with local radio broadcast on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
Tonight's match marks the 25th regular-season meeting between Vancouver and Portland in MLS play. The Timbers lead the all-time series with a record of 11-7-6. At Providence Park, the Timbers are 7-2-4 all-time against Whitecaps FC and have won four of the last five matches against Vancouver in Portland, outscoring them 12-7. In 10 career league appearances against Vancouver at Providence Park, Diego Valeri has tallied four goals and eight assists.
