
Timbers Fall on the Road to LA Galaxy

CARSON, Calif. - The Portland Timbers fell 4-1 to LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on Friday night. Timbers forward Jeremy Ebobisse tallied the lone goal for Portland, scoring his fourth goal of the regular season.
Ebobisse & Yimmi Chara Against LA Galaxy
Ebobisse scored his sixth goal in seven career matches against the Galaxy. The goal was his fourth of the season, which is tied for the team lead. Yimmi Chara recorded his eighth assist in six career games against the Galaxy.
Goal-Scoring Plays
LAG - Rayan Raveloson, 27th minute: Off a corner kick, the ball was redirected to Raveloson, who converted a bicycle kick from the center of the box.
POR - Jeremy Ebobisse (Yimmi Chara, Diego Valeri), 29th minute: After receiving a long pass out on the left wing from Valeri, Yimmi Chara dribbled into the box and slotted a pass to Ebobisse near the penalty spot. Ebobisse quickly cut the ball back onto his left foot and fired a shot into the right corner of the goal.
LAG - Victor Vázquez (Julian Araujo), 34th minute: Araujo dribbled down the right side to end line and played a cross into the center of the box for Vázquez, who finished with a headed goal.
LAG - Sacha Kljestan (penalty kick), 53rd minute: The Timbers were whistled for a foul inside the box and Kljestan converted from the spot.
LAG - Samuel Grandsir (Julian Araujo), 56th minute: Araujo dribbled down the right side of the box and fired a cross to Grandsir making a late run to the edge of the six-yard box. Grandsir deposited the cross into the back of the net with a header.

Ebobisse scored his fourth goal of the regular-season, and his 26th all-time with Portland.
Ebobisse is tied with Felipe Mora for the team lead with four this regular season.
Ebobisse has six goals in seven games against the Galaxy.
Yimmi Chara recorded his second assist of the regular season and his 10th with Portland since joining in 2020.
Eight of Yimmi Chara's assist have come against the Galaxy.
Yimmi Chara is the sixth player on the team to record at least two assists this season.
Valeri tallied his ninth assist against the Galaxy - the most in the two sides' all-time series by a single player.
Valeri's nine assists are tied for the sixth-most all-time in MLS by a single player against the Galaxy.
Fourteen different players have recorded an assist for Portland across all competitions in 2021.
Five different players have scored multiple goals for the Timbers during the 2021 campaign.
Van Rankin, Dairon Asprilla, and Diego Valeri are the only Timbers to appear in all 15 regular season matches in 2021.
This season, 25 different players have earned a start for the Timbers.
