March 25, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Portland Timbers News Release
The Timbers are set to host LA Galaxy at Providence Park today, Saturday, March 25. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app in English and Spanish, FOX, and local radio broadcasts, 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
Playing their 32nd MLS matchup, Portland will today host the LA Galaxy at Providence Park for the 15th time in the series. While the Timbers trail the series overall with an 11-13-7 record, they have the edge at home with a mark of 7-4-3, outscoring the Galaxy 32-21 at Providence Park. Portland and LA squared off in the 2023 Coachella Valley Invitational preseason tournament on Feb. 12 at the Empire Polo Club fields in Indio, California, where the Timbers notched a 4-1 victory over the Galaxy. Evander, Cristhian Paredes, Juan David Mosquera and Jaroslaw Niezgoda all scored in the match, while Tyler Boyd tallied the lone LA goal. The last time the two sides faced off in regular season competition, Portland earned a 1-1 draw on the road with the Galaxy on June 18, 2022, which marked the start of a 10-game unbeaten streak that ran through the summer. Notably, the Timbers have scored in each of their last 24 MLS matches (37 goals), a new club record for Portland.
