
Timbers Defender Claudio Bravo and Midfielder Yimmi Chara Named to MLS Team of the Week for Week 27

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers defender Claudio Bravo and midfielder Yimmi Chara were named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 27, the league announced today. Timbers midfielder Diego Chara was also named to the Team of the Week bench.
Bravo has been a key piece for Portland during its six-game unbeaten run, starting and playing in all six matches. The 24-year-old recorded his second assist of the season in Portland's 6-1 victory against Real Salt Lake on Sept. 25. Bravo leads the league in tackles won (52) and ranks third in interceptions (52). The Quilmes, Argentina native also leads the team in touches (1489), duels won (137) and possession won (151).
Yimmi Chara tallied his fourth goal and fourth assist of the 2021 campaign in the Timbers win against RSL. The Cali, Colombia native has appeared in 22 games (21 starts) for the Timbers this season. Along with Bravo, this is Yimmi Chara's first time being named to the MLS Team of the Week in 2021.
Making his third MLS Team of the Week appearance this season (Week 8, Week 14), Diego Chara recorded his first goal in the 2021 campaign and 11th with the Timbers since joining 2011. Diego Chara also notched his second assist of the season and 27th in his career with Portland. The Cali, Colombia native has appeared in 21 games (20 starts) in the 2021 campaign.
With a short turnaround, the Timbers will head to Los Angeles to face LAFC for a midweek match on Wednesday at Banc of California Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will feature a local broadcast FOX 12 PLUS with radio broadcasts on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
