Gregore's Second Yellow Card Rescinded, Will be Available against Portland
September 27, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Inter Miami CF News Release
Major League Soccer (MLS) announced today that the Independent Review Panel, consisting of one representative from the U.S. Soccer Federation, one representative from the Canadian Soccer Association and one independent representative nominated by the Professional Referee Organization, has unanimously rescinded the one-match suspension and accompanying fine for the second yellow card, and accompanying red card, issued to Inter Miami CF's Gregore in the 86th minute of Miami's match against Nashville SC on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The Brazilian will now be available for selection on Sunday, Oct. 3 when Inter Miami faces the Portland Timbers.
While the suspension and fine for the red card have been rescinded, Gregore will be suspended for Miami's next match, against Atlanta United on Wednesday, Sept. 29, due to yellow card accumulation, as his first yellow card, in the 75th minute of the match, was his eleventh accumulated yellow card of the season.
Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Since Miami's appeal on Gregore's red card was successful, the club maintains its remaining one unsuccessful appeal for any future red cards in the 2021 season.
