
Tilson walk-off single wins it in 12th

(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (20-24) snapped their five-game losing streak in walk-off fashion on Wednesday night against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (29-12) as Charlie Tilson hit a game-winning RBI single against Luis Garcia (1-2) to score Dalton Guthrie in the bottom of the 12th inning. The IronPigs would win 3-2.
The RailRiders took a 1-0 lead against Ramon Rosso in the top of the third inning when Andrew Velazquez hit a home run. The home run was his third of the season. Rosso left the game after four innings pitched, only allowing one run off two hits and one walk with five strikeouts. Ethan Evanko pitched three scoreless innings in relief of Rosso, only giving up two hits and three walks while striking out one batter.
The IronPigs tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning as Austin Listi hit an RBI single against Sal Romano to score Nick Maton. Trey Amburgey gave the RailRiders a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth inning when he hit an RBI triple against David Paulino to score Socrates Brito. Listi came through again in the bottom of the eighth inning when he tied the game at 2-2 against Nick Goody. He hit an RBI single to score Ryan Cordell.
J.D. Hammer pitched two scoreless innings in relief in extra innings. He recorded four strikeouts. Mauricio Llovera (2-0) earned the win by pitching a scoreless top of the 12th inning and recording one strikeout.
The IronPigs and RailRiders play at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park.
