Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Medicine Hat, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers announce this morning they have completed a trade with the Prince Albert Raiders.
The Tigers moved 19-year-old defenseman ZACH SIM to the Raiders in exchange for a fifth round draft pick in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
"Zach came in at the beginning of the season with a real good attitude," said Tigers' general manager/head coach Willie Desjardins. "He did the things we though he could do, moving the puck well and contributed to our team on and off the ice."
"With us wanting to play our younger d-men, it wasn't fair to have him sitting out. We felt it would be in Zach's best interest to make this deal to give him a chance to play and be closer to home," stated Desjardins.
This moves brings the Tigers roster to twenty-four players including 2 goaltenders, 7 defenseman and 15 forwards.
The next action for the Tigers is this Friday night when they travel down the Trans Canada Highway to visit the Regina Pats.
The Tigers return home for two games on Saturday and Sunday night to round our their three games in three nights weekend.
Just a reminder Saturday night is Medicine Hat News Teddy Bear, Scarves, Toques and Mitten Toss night when the Tigers take on the Spokane Chiefs. All fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed toy, scarf, toque or mittens and throw them on the ice when the Tigers score their first goal of the game. All items will be donated to the Salvation Army who will distribute them to various charities and needy families in Medicine Hat and area.
