Kamloops Blazers News Release
KAMLOOPS, BC - Today the Kamloops Blazers and Medicine Hat Tigers completed a trade in which the Blazers acquired 19-year-old forward Scott Wasden - along with a 7th round selection in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft - from the Tigers in exchange for 18-year-old forward Travis Dunstall.
"Scott is a veteran WHL player with plenty of playoff and Memorial Cup experience who has been on a proven winner throughout his junior career," says Assistant Coach Andrew Milne. "We are expecting Scott to bring leadership and a winning attitude to our team."
"At the same time, it is difficult to part company with an individual like Travis and we wish him nothing but success in a new role in Medicine Hat," says Milne.
Wasden, a 6'1", 190-pound centre from Westbank, is expected to be in the Blazer lineup on Friday in Kelowna.
