Calgary Hitmen Launch Minor Sports Fundraising Program
November 28, 2007 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club announced today the creation of a Minor Sports Fundraising Program.
All minor sports teams in Calgary and surrounding area can purchase ticket vouchers for $7.50 each and then sell them at a higher price, keeping the difference. Suggested voucher price is $15.00.
"We understand the fundraising pinch many groups face and this is just another example of how the Calgary Hitmen want to give back to the community," said Hitmen Director of Business Operations Kip Reghenas.
"Cardel Homes created the Rockin' Rally where teams use Hitmen tickets to raise money and it was a huge success, so we'd like to expand on the concept."
This program will run year round and is open to any minor sports team such as hockey, soccer or baseball.
To receive the $7.50 price, teams must commit to a minimum of 100 ticket vouchers.
There will be prizes for groups who sell the most tickets including a grand prize where the winning team and their families will attend a Hitmen playoff game for free.
For more info on the program including an application form visit the Calgary Hitmen website at www.hitmenhockey.com.
The Hitmen return to action Friday night when they host the Spokane Chiefs. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
