
Tigers Fall 4-2 to Raiders

Medicine Hat, AB - Another great start ends in an unfortunate loss for the Medicine Hat Tigers Sunday afternoon to the Prince Albert Raiders at Co-op Place.
Both teams coming in were on the third straight game in as many days and it showed in the 1st as both tried to get their bearings but there would be no scoring in the 1st period despite a pair of power play chances for the Raiders that would end up being killed off by the home side.
Off to the second period where on the first man advantage for the Tigers would lead to pay dirt as Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) was able to notch his 10th of the year beating Raiders starter Tikhon Chaika to make 1-0 Tigers at 2:21. But the Raiders would be opportunistic scoring the next four goals in a span of 10:25 as Cole Peardon, Sloan Stanick and Evan Herman all scored on re-directs at even strength and one power play goal before Stanick would get his second of the period beating Tigers goaltender Beckett Langkow (Vegreville, AB) at 19:35 to make it 4-1 Raiders heading to the third period.
In the third the Tigers found some life with a pair of power play opportunities but on a 5 on 5 chance at 12:16 Dallon Melin (Czar, AB) would notch his 5th of the season beating Chaika short side to cut the deficit in half for the Tigers at 4-2.
Despite an extra attacker and power play, the Tigers wouldn't be able to comeback against the Raiders falling 4-2.
Medicine Hat went 1/4 on the power play Sunday while the Tigers were 2/3 on the penalty kill. Prince Albert ends up outshooting the Tigers 28-22 in their 10th win of the season and 3rd win against Medicine Hat in the four game season series. The Tigers and Raiders close out their match-ups against each other December 14 in Prince Albert.
With the loss, the Tigers 8-12-4-1 on the 2022-23 campaign and will turn their attention to the Calgary Hitmen at the Scotiabank Saddledome Friday night at 7PM.
