Chiefs Struggle Against Everett, Give Up 5 Goals In The 2nd

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs came up short against the Everett Silvertips tonight, falling 8-3 to their division foe.

Everett was on the board first 91 seconds into the game thanks to Lamanna's 3rd of the season. They followed that goal with another score at 10:49 of the first, this time from Jesse Heslop with helpers from Roest and Berezowski.

The 'Tips wasted no time in the 2nd period, scoring just 9 seconds into the frame. The goals didn't stop there, as Everett tacked on 4 more goals in the period to go up 7-0. Roest netted a hat trick in the 2nd period alone and ended the night with 4 points.

Spokane came out strong in the 3rd with a goal just 47 seconds into the final period of play.

Ty Cheveldayoff carried the puck through the neutral zone and into the attacking third before ripping a powerful drive from the right wing past the Everett goalie. Credit Hayes and De Luca on the assists and Chevy with his 10th goal of the season.

Chevy wasn't finished and snagged his 11th on the year soon after. This time on the rebound from Wiles shot, plus another assist for De Luca who now sits in 6th among league rookies in points (4G, 10A).

Everett answered with another goal 15:17 into the 3rd to take an 8-2 lead this time from Aidan Sutter with assists from Heslop and Jamieson.

Bertholet had the last word, scoring his 9th goal of the season with just over 2 minutes left in the game. Cole Wadsworth registered his second career WHL point with an assist, and Berkly Catton captured the other assist on the play.

Dawson Cowan and Cooper Michaluk split time in goal for this one, making a total of 39 saves.

The Chiefs went 0-4 on the powerplay and only gave up 1 goal on the penalty kill in 4 Everett attempts.
